I’ve switched my cleaning supplies.  I know usually not blog worthy but I’ve switched to natural based products.  Why?  Check here on the Seventh Generation site.  It’s scary. added benefit is that the new products are not petroleum based, that means Exxon Mobil, or BP is getting even less of my money!

baby on the brain

I have baby on the brain.  Yes I’ll admit it..lately thats all I’ve been thinking about.  Jason and I have been TTC for a couple years now…not serious…no charting or anything. we were playing the "if it happened it happens" game.  It didn’t. Well it did…but nothing stuck. I’ve had my fair share of miscarriages. About a year ago i went to the Dr, and i was told I had PCOS. I was frustrated, and wasn’t really sure about the diagnosis. After the Dr. told me a pregnancy may not happen, I turned off. Note that was almost a year ago.  A few months ago i decided i really need to learn more about this…so i searched online and read, that I need to  loose weight (duh!) but because of the PCOS it is really hard to loose weight (Alec I’d like catch 22 for $200, please, and get rid of the toxins (any one know a good deodorant that can stand Texas summers with out aluminum in it?). We are trying. I’ve switched my white grains to whole wheat grains (yum! i actually LOVE whole wheat anything).
I got a book this last week about PCOS and it is making me feel better.  It is the reason for my depression, acne, hair loss, weight gain (over night wight gain is common..many woman say one day they woke up fat) and lack of periods (TMI?).  I ALSO LEARNED THAT IT IS NOT A REPRODUCTIVE SYNDROME, but a chemical imbalance that one of the side effects is cyst, that in turn makes it hard to get pregnant.
Its amazing how a little knowledge makes me feel much more powerful and less drepressed with my diagnosis. So thanks for letting me share with you….it feels good to get it out there….
Oh and I have since found out 70% of women with PCOS get pregnant naturally, and another  20% get pregnant with the help of fertility treatments, there is no reason for me not to get pregnant!

Hopefully soon I will be able to share exciting news and start choosing cribs and baby bedding.
